How do I get Cliff's 'yellow heart event' to trigger? (in Harvest Moon: More friends of mineral town)?

I'm trying to 'marry' Cliff in Harvest Moon: MOre Friends of Mineral Town. One guide says to trigger the event in Fall, one says it doesn't matter what season...Which is true?

I'm not completely certain about the season (usually if a specific season is mentioned, it could be due to other events that happen).

The event triggers on a Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday, from 5pm-7pm, in the Winery.
