The Savage Arms Company was organized in 1894 by Arthur Savage in Utica, New York. A citizen of Jamaica, Arthur led an idealistic life, having been schooled in England and the United States. In his early thirties, he explored the heart of Australia and was incarcerated for a year by Aborigines. Later, he became the proprietor of the biggest cattle farm in Australia.

What is the differance between a rifled barrel and a regular barrel for a paintball gun. (tippmann 98 custom)?

I saw a "rifled" one on amazon and wanted to know if they were worth the cash.

No, they're worthless in terms of paintball.

In a REGULAR firearm, the barrel is rifled to provide spin on a bullet and give it stability and therefore increase accuracy.

HOWEVER! Because a paintball is spherical (or as close to it as possible), it will have little to no affect on it at all, if anything it could cause to paintball to become unstable or loose distance causing you to increase the amount of pressure running through the gun to bump up the velocity again.

Rifled barrels, in terms of paintball, are absolutely worthless. If you want to spend money on a barrel, get a Freak kit, a set of paintball gauges, and some HIGH quality paint, then spend the night before you play sorting through the paint to match it to your tips.
