Colour B4 on Real Red XXL?

I've been dying my hair for 3 years. First black, then purple and now red. I want to use Colour B4 to go back to my natural hair colour so I can dye it a much brighter red.

Will it work properly as long as I follow the instructions perfectly? I've heard people say that it won't work on XXL colours but I've seen a lot of people who have said it's worked perfectly. I just want some reassurance before I use it myself.

It won't do very much.

Red stains your hair rather than has molecules that expand (sorry, don't have the time to fully explain it). Red is the hardest pigment other than black to remove from hair as it is a stain - Colour B4 does NOT work on stains.

Judging by your combo of black then purple then red, I doubt it will work. Save yourself a tenner or two and don't use it.

A bleach bath may work better (bleach mixed with equal parts of conditioner) - should get rid of some of the colour and a brighter red will stick better to bleach treated hair.
