DDR Pads For Xbox - Should You Choose Plastic Or Foam

Dance Dance Revolution has become quite popular and as such they now have pads for most of the gaming systems including DDR pads for Xbox. You can get these pads in foam or metal, and there are some advantages to each.

The foam DDR pads for Xbox are made of high density foam with durable plastic inserts underneath each button to accentuate the difference between the buttons and other parts of the pad. The foam insert will reduce the stress on your feet and allow you to play the game for hours at a time reasonably comfortably. It also allows you to remove the foam and fold the pad up for storage. The foam can be stored on any shelf since it is light. This makes it ideal for high traffic areas like setting the game up in the living room. If you gaming system is set up like this then the foam pads are probably the best bet for you.

However, if you play the game a lot or if you have the game set up somewhere where it doesn't need to be taken down, then you might want to consider a metal pad. There are a number of models for metal when talking about DDR pads for Xbox. These are a little more durable which means that they should hold up better and last a little bit longer; an added benefit especially with kids who love to play the game all the time. However, with the durability comes added weight. Because of the metal construction these metal pad can weigh between 38-70 pounds. Not something that you are going to want to have to move around all the time, so setting up and tearing it down frequently would not be ideal with this type of pad. This would not be a problem if you have the gaming system set up in a place where you can leave it set up. A spare room, or a bedroom, even a workout room would be ideal locations. In a bedroom you can always consider sliding the pad under the bed when you aren't using it. This makes a quick, and convenient storage place without putting yourself at too much risk for injury while moving the bulky pad around.

 

As with anything else, you should consider all the elements when making a purchase. Are you going to be playing the game a lot? Are you going to have to set it up and tear it down quite a bit? Is storing the game going to be an issue that you have to consider? Answering these questions for yourself will give you the answer as to which DDR pad for XBOX to buy.

Where can I get a D-Pad set from for my xbox 360 controller?

I need the full D-pad set for my xbox 360 controller as I crossthreaded the screw when I was putting it back together. I need the D-pad, the base it goes into and possibly the 2 screws.

I don't really want to buy a whole or second hand controller just for these bits as it's too expensive, I've seen the D-Pads around but not the whole thing.

Can anyone help?
