xp pro service pack 2 do I need to install s/p3 I am not a gamer and do not download much?

I have been told there is no need to install s/p3 is there any benefit in using it thanks to all who answer

By all means, do it!! If you can, that is. I've been trying for months and keep getting an error message. The error is specific to my computer's setup, so I think I'm going to have to re-intall Win XP and lose all of my settings. I wish you better luck than I've had. I recommend that you run Window Update right now and when that's done, turn on Automatic Updates.
