CO2 tank sounds like it is releasing gas after removal from marker.?

I recently just filled up my 12oz CO2 tank for my paintball marker. I only shot a few rounds before stopping and removing the tank. At this point a bunch of CO2 gas released as I was unscrewing. Now, when I put my ear up to the tank valve it makes a wheezing sound as if it is slowly releasing CO2 gas. Is this normal and if so, how long does it usually last? Because it's been like this for about 5-10 mins now.
I don't think it's the o-ring. More or less, I don't see how it could be at least. It's sitting here by itself and seems to be coming from the actual "hole" or insert.

No it should NOT be doing that. If it is leaking from the valve when the tank is not on the marker then the valve is damaged and needs to be replaced. Normally you just toss the tank and buy a new one.

The leaking when you remove your tank is normal. It is just your marker depressurizing so that you don't leave it filled with co2 and putting unneeded stress on the internals. Your marker is suppose to release the pressurized co2 in the marker when you remove your tank, its a safety reason mainly.

It sounds like the valve is bad on the tank and you need a new one. Your tank should not be leaking co2 out of it when you dont have it on your marker. Also there is no way it can be your o-ring causing the leak.
