Is it legal to buy full auto weapon but not assemble it in California?

Is it legal to buy full auto weapon by parts in California but not assemble it? Just for the sake of collecting.

No, that is totally illegal an a felony.

You can buy a fulll auto weapon if you get a ffl and then at least here in pa you pay 100percent tax on it.

Just to give you an idea of what its going to cost, a full auto ak 47 at one of the stores here that does sell fully auto stuff, is 14 thousand dollers...
