Are PaintBall Guns Aloud On Airplanes?

me and my buds are heading down to oklahoma from canada for a big paintball event, we want to know if we can bring them onto the planes?

also a side question, would we be aloud to cross the border with them too, if we decide to drive.

I'm not sure what the new rules are but as of 2007...
You can bring a marker in a suitcase in the cargo area of the plane, but not with you as a carry on. Its best to at least take the barrel off so that the marker doesn't look a gun. You should also be straight up and tell the people at baggage check that you have paintball gear including a marker. Say marker, if you say gun then they will flip and it would suck to end up being questioned and miss your flight. Tanks can go too as long as the valve is removed so that they can look inside them to make sure you don't have a bomb or something. Look up the info on the official FAA page or whatever they're called and print out the info so that you can show it to the people at the gate. I don't see how crossing the boarder driving is a problem as long as you have ID. Also on youtube and expert village there are some videos by Rob Ruben or something like that that state the rules for 2007. Also call the airport and ask them. Good luck. Hope this helped.
