Need amusement park high thrill rides east coast - did kings dominion VA last summer?

I loved KD sooooo much & would be hard to top but would like to try- doesn't have to be all rollercoasters but high thrill manditory

Six Flags Great Adventure (New Jersey)

Holds the #4 best coaster in the world (Nitro - 80 mph)

Kingda Ka, world's tallest and fastest coaster (456 feet, 128 mph)

Medusa, the first floorless coaster in the world, and an absolutlely perfect ride!

El Toro (opening Spring), the steepest drop on a wooden roller coaster.
That's basically all the extreme thrill rides but you can certainly make 2 days out of this park, tied as the best park I've ever been to.

Cedar Point (Ohio)

Holds basically all types of coasters (Stand-up, Inverted, Hyper, Giga, Rocket, Twin, etc)

Millennium Force, their anchor attraction has been voted the #1 coaster in the world for 2005 (310 feet, 93 mph, 80 degree drop)

Top Thrill Dragster, their other anchor attraction, towers above the landscape, only a 16 second ride but a thrill you'll never forget (420 feet, 120 mph). Voted the 7th best coaster for 2005

Mantis is their stand-up coaster, its really rough and I don't recommend it but it's still worth riding.

Mean Streak and Blue Streak: their two wooden coasters, Mean Streak is absolutely huge and amazing to look at with its huge wooden frame, while Blue Streak is their oldest operating coaster.

Magnum XL200 was the tallest coaster in 1989 but is still a very good coaster (205 feet, 72 mph). It's kinda rough but was voted the 3rd best coaster in the world for 2005.

Skyhawk is their new thrill ride for 2006, its basically a gigantic swing that goes 60 mph and goes 125 feet in the air.

maXair is another great thrill ride, its a giant swinging disk that resembles Skyhawk.

Power Tower has an amazing vertical drop of nearly 300 feet. I rode it over 6 times.

Paramount Carowinds (North Carolina)

They have a lot of smaller coasters but Top Gun is one of the absolute best inverted coasters I've ever ridden. You can definently make a day out of this park, even with its small size. Top Gun voted the 29th best coaster for 2005

Busch Gardens Williamsburg (Virginia)

ALL of their 4 coasters are awesome. Apollo's Chariot is a great smooth, tall and fast coaster that everyone should ride.

Alpengiest is an awesome inverted coaster that is nearly 200 feet tall.

Curse of DarKastle is a great indoor simulator, a one of a kind ride (other than Spiderman at Islands of Adventure)

Loch Ness Monster is their oldest coaster and the only coaster to have interlocking loops. It's a great ride even with it's age.

Big Bad Wolf is one of the only remaining suspeneded swinging coasters. It's a very different and great thrill ride.

Other parks that I won't go into detail with cause it takes too long are:

Six Flags Over Georgia
Anchor Attraction: Goliath (opening Apr. 1)

Six Flags America (Maryland) *
Anchor Attraction: Superman: Ride of Steel

Six Flags New England (Massachusetts) *
Anchor Attraction: Superman: Ride of Steel (voted 2nd best coaster)

Busch Gardens Tampa
Anchor Attractions: Kumba, SheiKra, and Montu

all of these parks I've been to (except the ones with a *) but after riding over 100 coasters and knowing what companies build what rides (what companies build good rides versus what companies build bad rides) I can tell you these parks will have awesome rides.

If you think PKD was awesome... just wait until you go to Six Flags Great Adventure or Cedar Point, they make PKD look boring.
